Collagen is a protein that acts to provide support and structure to body tissues, especially skin. Collagen is lost, as we age. We tend to recognize this loss, first in our faces as we get older. We lose volume and skin integrity, developing sagging and wrinkles. Facial aging actually begins in your 20s, when skin firmness begins to decrease as a result of both internal (genetics and natural aging) and external (sun exposure, smoking, pollution, sleeping positions, etc.) factors.

Collagen stimulators are used to diminish facial wrinkles by helping to restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin. As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra Aesthetic is different. It works with your body within the deep dermis, rather than topically, to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

Results appear gradually over the treatment regime (typically three injections over the course of three to four months) and can last up to two years.

Clients must adhere to a massaging regimen for at least 5 days post the procedure to distribute the product more evenly into the dermis. This product is great for clients who want a natural, subtle change over time.
